Since its inception, St. George has had a steadfast commitment to The Way, as Christianity was called by its earliest disciples. The Holy Orthodox Church continues to this day to follow the Faith as given by Christ Himself to the Apostles 2000 years ago, without change, alteration, or addition. As Christians from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, we strive to be ever more effective witnesses of the Gospel, as expressed in the Apostolic Tradition and worship of the Orthodox Church. St. George Greek Orthodox Church was founded by proud Semendrian Greeks and other Christians from Asia Minor who came to America to build a new life, led by their love for God and the Orthodox Faith. In the year 1928, the original parish was built on Hill Street in Pontiac, Michigan. The parish was moved to Mariva Street in 1931. Our current location was established in Bloomfield Hills in 1966.
