Fr. Spiridon Morris

Father Spiridon Morris was born in Metro-Detroit, Michigan, in December 1994 to Peter and Evelyn Morris and grew up in Novi. A lifelong member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Farmington Hills, he earned a B.S. in Microbiology from Michigan State University in 2017. Feeling called to ministry from age 14—and confirmed in that calling at 19—he entered Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2018. During seminary he served as Ecclesiarch, Treasurer of his class for four years, and President of the Married Student Association, graduating with a Master of Divinity in 2022.

He then worked for the Metropolis of Detroit as Assistant to His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas. Father Spiridon was ordained to the Diaconate on July 22, 2023 (feast of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Markella) and to the Priesthood on January 27, 2024 (translation of the relics of St. John Chrysostom). He began serving St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bloomfield Hills on March 1, 2024. Father Spiridon has been married since 2020 to Elaine Morris, a registered nurse at St. John Ascension Hospital in Detroit.
